★We also feel there is a need for deep introspection to assess what we, as a country, can do for a more egalitarian and just society that our martyrs gave their lives for.

=আমরা উপলদ্ধি করি, আমাদের শহীদগন যে উদ্দেশ্য জীবন দিলেন তা একটি দেশ হিসাবে আমরা আরো সমানাধিকার ও ন্যায়সঙ্গত সমাজের জন্য কী করতে পারি, তা মূল্যায়ন করার জন্য গভীর অন্তঃদৃষ্টির প্রয়োজন রয়েছে।

★It is equally important to recognise our achievements on the one hand, and acknowledge our shortfalls on the other.

=একদিকে যেমন আমাদের অর্জনসমূহকে সমানভাবে স্বীকৃত দেওয়া গুরুত্বপূর্ণ; অন্যদিকে আমাদের ঘাটতিগুলোকেও স্বীকার করে নেওয়াও সমানভাবে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

★Income inequality is rising, millions still live in extreme poverty, violence against women is rampant, and corruption in our public institutions and banking sector is yet to be rooted out.

=আয় বৈষম্য বাড়ছে, লক্ষ লক্ষ মানুষ এখনও চরম দরিদ্রতার নিচে বাস করছে, নারীদের বিরুদ্ধে সহিংসতা ব্যাপক, এবং আমাদের সরকারি প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো এবং ব্যাংকিং খাতগুলোতে দুর্নীতি এখনও নির্মূল হয়নি।

★Without a mindset of honest reflection, it will not be possible to address the shortcomings.

=একটি সৎ মানসিকতার অনুচিন্তন ব্যতীত ক্রটি বিচ্যুতিগুলো সুরাহা করা সম্ভব না।
